Matt Pascarella is an award-winning freelance researcher, writer and producer. His past work with investigative journalist Greg Palast was broadcast in over 40 countries on BBC Newsnight and BBC World Television, and appeared in Harper’s Magazine, the Guardian (UK) Newspaper, and Palast's bestselling books, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy (Penguin) and, most recently, Armed Madhouse -- Dispatches From the Front Lines of the Class War (Penguin). His groundbreaking work with Palast led to numerous US Congressional investigations, US Civil Rights Commission inquiries, US Department of Justice investigations and has been cited by foreign governments and organizations (such as the EU and the UN) in developing foreign policy.

Matt is a regular contributor to the Progressive magazine, has written for Adbusters magazine and has contributed to articles in The Nation, In These Times and Harper’s as well as various other TV, radio, and print media. His writing has been syndicated and re-printed in the Baltimore Chronicle, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and many other publications and websites. He has also produced news segments for Link TV, Democracy Now!, Al Jazeera International, and Free Speech TV.

Matt has presented lectures at over twenty-five universities, professional, and academic conferences - including USC Annenberg School, St. John’s Law School, New York University, the University of Wisconsin, and Hofstra University. His presentation topics and research have included: Political communication, labor in the global economy, political economy, interpersonal & mass communication, media ecology, media literacy, creative resistance, and new media technologies, as well as many other subject areas.

Matt is the Media Director of La Lutta New Media Collective, an international non-profit collective dedicated to promoting socially conscious works. He is also a producer for Big Noise Tactical Media - a non-profit media collective dedicated to producing beautiful, politically and culturally challenging films. Matt also lends his skills as a producer to the nationally acclaimed organization, Video The Vote - a non-profit citizen journalism program. Along with John Buffalo Mailer, he is a founding member of CounterPoint Pictures and is a member of the National Writer’s Union.

The USC Annenberg School of Communication in Los Angeles awarded Matt’s research on President Bush's language use with distinguished honors. Bush Family Fortunes, a film produced by Matt, was awarded the George Orwell Courage in Journalism prize, and stories he has researched for Palast have won numerous Project Censored Awards. Just last year, another film Matt produced, Channels of War, was part of the official selection for the prestigious Whitney Museum Biennial in New York City.

He graduated magna cum laude with decorated honors and received the distinguished golden key awards for graduating top in both of his majors, Communications/Media Studies and Political Science from Marymount Manhattan College.
